The course concludes with closed-book examinations leading to the required certificate of competence in well intervention. Certification is valid for two years.
Rig Site Familiarization Program
A bespoke program, the aim of which is to expose new employees to a rig environment for ten consecutive days as part of their interview/induction process in order to identify those employees who may not have the aptitude for work on either land or off-shore drilling rigs. The hope is to increase retention of new hires by giving them exposure to a realistic working environment prior to being put on additional industry required training courses.
Stuck Pipe Prevention
The purpose of this two day course is to provide well engineers, drilling supervisors and drilling personnel with the knowledge and understanding of the causes of stuck pipe and the means to reduce or eliminate stuck pipe as a significant cause of lost time incidents and related costs.
Basic Drilling Awareness
This course is designed for non-technical personnel such as those from finance, HR, supply chain, marketing and technical personnel from non-drilling disciplines such as production operations, facilities management and QHSE. The Basic Drilling Awareness course provides a comprehensive overview of the terminology and vocabulary of the drilling process.
Introduction to Well Services
This one day course on Well Services and Well Integrity aims to develop an awareness and understanding of four key themes: well construction including drilling and completions, well integrity and well leak paths, the need for well servicing, and the equipment used in well intervention.
Basic Drilling Technology & Equipment
The course has been designed for employees from E&P supply chain including operating companies, drilling contractors, services companies and manufacturing companies and from administration, contracts, finance, HR, logistics and procurement, operations, technical and non-technical management, QHSE, sales and marketing. The aim of the course id to develop awareness of the technology behind the drilling process and drilling function within the operating company structure and across supply chain, in order that non-drilling personnel can engage in effective, value adding conversation with drilling colleagues and industry associates.
Advanced (customized) Well Control
This five day course is designed to provide Well Control training above and beyond re-certification training. This training focuses on practical and operational skills, often customized to specific geographical and operational areas.
Casing Design
This five day Casing Design course has been designed for practicing well engineers and well planners who need to understand the principles of casing design. The course has applicability to engineers involved in cementing and supply chain management with responsibility for procuring casing.
Optimized Drilling Practices
This course has been designed for early career stage drilling and well engineers. This course can vary in duration depending on the delegates’ prior knowledge and experience. It is designed to extend the engineers’ understanding of fundamental drilling principles and practices, and develop associated competences that will improve operations performance.
HPHT Wells
This three day High Pressure High Temperature training course provides a comprehensive understanding of the well design and operational requirements for HPHT wells. It develops the principles of HPHT well engineering from rig selection through well control and HPHT considerations for casing design, drilling fluids and cement formulations.
