About Us

Who we are?

The original notion of establishing the institute emanated from His Excellency Eng Ali bin Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, former Minister of Energy. The idea was to establish a training center that serves the energy sector in the Kingdom by providing qualified, capable, and trained Saudi youth. This will significantly reduce dependence on foreign labor. It will also impact the development and strengthening of society and social development programs and provide guaranteed jobs for Saudi youth who will join the institute.

EnergyTech (formerly known as SPSP) has been established to fulfill the Energy Sector’s needs and to support the industry Saudization in the Kingdom. It was founded in 2008 by the Ministry of Energy, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), Saudi Arabian Chevron, Saudi Aramco and Aramco Gulf Operations. EnergyTech is an independent non-profit entity governed by a Board of Trustees representing the institution’s major stakeholders.

The Energy Sector consists of several contracting companies that service the industry through energy exploration, drilling, and production facilities in the energy fields throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These contractors work with major energy companies, such as Saudi Aramco and Saudi Arabian Chevron.

The industry relies heavily on expatriate workers and offers significant job opportunities for well-trained and qualified young Saudis. EnergyTech can provide all the industry training needed to fulfill the Saudization requirements for the Energy sector. Several leading Saudi international energy sector contractors support EnergyTech, and the EnergyTech Board of Trustees represents many.

EnergyTech also receives total Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) support. This collaboration and support have resulted in developing several industry-specific training programs delivered exclusively at EnergyTech. Graduating young Saudi professionals will enter the industry fully competent to fill many highly skilled technical jobs in the Energy sector.
